This is an artist-initiated project that captures the transition and memories of The Mills during the heritage conservation project commenced in 2015. With each of their artistic practice and approach, six photographers, anothermountainman, Kitty Chou, South Ho, Law Yuk Mui, So Hing Keung and Tse Ming Chong, from Hong Kong have produced images of various aesthetics and stories around the engrained legacy at MILL6’s future home, The Mills in Tsuen Wan. Their works have contributed to our continuous research, study and archive of MILL6.

As part of our Heritage Program, the public forum will also showcase some precious photographic documentations of The Mills during its active years of textile production. MILL6 values this chance to share with you a lesser known aspect of The Mills.

With a purpose of preserving the textile culture in Hong Kong and building our archive, it has kicked off the first year of the project in which the six artists conducted their survey at the site and developed their ideas upon their first encounter of The Mills. By reconnecting the people and the intangible heritage and stories of textiles, the project is going to evolve and expand in the following two years until we move in our permanent home in 2018. Stay tuned for more updates.
